Bump and RGB and Grey

Hallo,

I post it here and not in the wish section, because it is more than a wish. Please, make that Maxwell can use Grey bumps too. Many textures on professional Texture Collection CDs are in Grey and it make no fun to convert all in RGB befor. :wink:

I understand you very well and I totally agree but this is technically "a wish".
We must keep the bug section as tidy as possible. So I had to move it here.

It's not hard but these are all small things to be implemented by the time. They just need a few file format routines for reading files and this is not a issue especially for Maxwell. ;)

Extra HDRI environment maps, extra bump maps, extra ... Stop. I use not only Maxwell and the maps should be compatible to the other apps please. And, Grey image need less memory at the HDD.

If it work in the final release, I'm happy. :wink:

If they touch it to support grey scale - which I support - then they should add 16-bit support while they are at it, too.

Bump maps are quite limited compared to Normal maps anyway, and 8-bit Bump maps are even much more limited, because they don't allow subtle effects.
