Denoiser ala RenderMan 20

I don't know how much this goes against the ethos of Maxwell Render but Pixar have added a Denoiser pass to their physically based render engine in RenderMan 20. Check it out here:

Much like we currently have the "Simulens" post process effect in Maxwell, it would be great if we could have a post process "Denoiser" effect too.

As they say on the Pixar web page, "Finally the "make pretty" button has arrived!"

Cheers,
Andrew.

I second that! It seems like it would be a good fit for Maxwell to have such a tool.
Thanks!

This is even better and perhaps more suitable as it is not proprietary to Disney:

Wow, imagine the impact of such a filter on render times Gianca. The passes needed are already there with Maxwell Render if I'm correct?

+1
