Mix materials

hello
the idea :
if i want mix 3 materials and each material have many layers and masks ; this setup take long time or we can't do it
if we can in one material add unlimited materials and each material have its opacity/mask option and its weight and its displacement
we simply add material without convert it or copy bsdfs from layer to layer

Hello Seghier,

I understand the point. The issue behind this approach is that it would complicate the interface a lot for certain platforms, and (more important) that it could potentially be expanded to an endless recursive situation of nested materials inside other materials, that will definitely break the ease of use and way evaluation performance.

However, said that, future developments would allow this kind of operations ; )

So far, playing with layers and masks is the only way now.

it will be very useful :)
like in blender : mixshader
maybe in future maxwell will use node editor for materials and compositing ; or you develop the material editor by adding node editor
