I've scripted something to do this to some extent, but it would be great to see similar functionality embedded in studio. Can wait till Studio gets scripting support!

I think its wiser to do that manually, because it takes no time, and you get a chance to see if it has bogus exif data, unless the exif just been shifted 1 hour, due to Summertime clock changes, in which case it would be hard to tell it was wrong anyway...

The time adds up when you're doing 10 - 20 different scenes in one go!
Personally I've never come across bogus exif data. If the camera time is wrong then that's going to be a problem whether you do it manually or not. I always compare render light direction to the photo by eye in fire or a quick render as a final protection. I know this feature would save me time.. maybe it's just me
