a quicker way to toggle on and off SSS please

Hi Developers,
one thing which bugs me is that with the current implementation of SSS one can not simply switch it off when tweaking other
aspects of the Material. One has to create a Material Snapshot and then manipulate several Spinners and Colour/Map Slots to
get rid of the effect temporarily. Not very elegant.
To me giving SSS an own entry in the Stack, which can be globally be switched on and off (like Coatings have) seems to be a more practical approach.
Wasn't this so anyway at some point before M~R2.0?

I don't disagree with your general point, but just fyi, if you set coefficient to 0, there can be no scattering, regardless of any other factor.

Yes, that's what it looked like to me too but I had no idea if some other (render-time-prolonging) calculations
were going on in the Background. Thanks for clearing this up.

Can't you just put a new (normal) layer on top of your material and check/uncheck that layer. It would essentially block the layer below it (SSS)

Thanks for the Workaround-Suggestion!
I still think that giving SSS a Sub-Layer- Status, comparable to a Coating was more helpful.

i think this would be a useful feature as well. Yeah, there are workarounds for it, but it would be more efficient to have an "on/off" switch for it
