Hi,
i'd love if we could use Limited Region to keep refining an area of precomputed picture. Also, i'd like an option to *replace* an area of an exhisting rendering with a region.
Fprime for LW could do it and i used it a lot.
From a physical POV, if you change something in the scene probably it's not enough to render just a region since everything in the scene affects everything.
From a much more production-oriented POV, i can say that often there are small glitches in a final pic that would make this feature useful. An example which happens often is a carpet or grass displacement; once it's refined, i dont like result or i want to have fibers 2 cm taller/lower. In a case like this a replace area feature would be killer.
Now we can render a limited region with new settings, but we cant merge the original DSI with new area's one, and this is an issue when you have to work a lot on exposure or use multilight.
