More control about Bokeh

Hi Developers,
something burns on my nails for long already: Could we please get some more Control about Bokeh?
While I certainly don't mean to shape the Reflections as Hearts or so it was great to control Dof in the way it is possible with expensive Camera Lenses.
It is such a powerful means to create atmosphere and concentration on the Point of Interest, shame that Maxwell's Dof always looks so neutral.
For some samples of what beautiful Bokeh can do to Images just have a look at Tora's Bird Pictures in the Daily Photo thread.
I am also somehow hoping that very pronounced DOF could also help cutting down Render Times, although currently DOF in Maxwell seems to have the
opposite effect. Does this really have to stay that way?

While I know there's dedicated Post Software (and own it) I would actually like to see this properly effect taken care of properly and inside Maxwell already.
Perfect was of course if we could read in Profiles of Lenses.

What's implemented in Evermotion Nox looks not too bad although it's a Post Process but I also found interesting what a Blender-User could do with Cycles and Camera-Mapping
(well - this is Hearts... but I guess you get the sense)
