Free Maxwell Render Educational Licenses

Ok so I have a question hopefully someone from Maxwell will respond and also people can express their views on the topic both pro and con.

I have been using Maxwell for around 2 and a half years now and bought the educational license for version 1 when I actually had money. The problem now is that whilst at University and having a child, I no longer have any money whatsoever to even consider buying a pencil never mind a new license. The current economic climate has also added difficulty as I dont know any other student that doesnt have money issues today.

My thoughts are that companies such as Autodesk allow people like myself to use all of their software for educational purposes for free and it would be great to see Maxwell Render follow this same trend. I think that it would be reasonable for a watermark to be in the bottom left of the screen saying something like Maxwell Render Educational License so that nobody can use it for Commercial use. This means that money is no limit for learning and would definately bring more people to use Maxwell Render.

I love the work that the team puts into Maxwell Render and mean no disrespect whatsoever. I just would never consider illegally downloading the software as this isnt fair. The demo also is no good for portfolios with the limited resolution and big watermark in the middle.

Any comments about this would be greatly appreciated.
