Grouping UI panels on 2nd monitor

I think the tab system is a nice addition. And it seems easier to move the UI panels around and lock them into various areas. But after you undock them they can't be joined together or tabbed with other undocked panels. I'm on a dual monitor setup and I use studio a lot so I like to have one screen for my viewport and camera settings. I've got this as my main window so I can have a few tabbed previews and my camera settings are tabbed. But then everything else is on my second monitor. It would be nice to be able to have those on tabs as well but they won't link up or tab.

Yes, that would be nice to have panels snap together on other monitors.

Do you click the Detach button in the upper right of a panel? In that case it becomes a floating panel which can't be docked. This is in case a user wants a floating panel that doesn't dock accidentally to the rest of the UI. If you now click the Detach button again, the panel will be docked to it's original location. To dock a panel elsewhere, just click/drag it's title bar and dock it somewhere else.

Mihai,
Yes, that works fine and well and I understand that sometimes it's nice to have undocked menus. However sometimes you want to dock menus to those undocked menus, if that makes sense. So, for example, maybe I want all of my menus on 1 screen and then on a seperate screen all I was is a huge viewport w/ 3 tabs at the bottom which correspond to other viewports. Currently you can't do that because either you could have the viewports tabbed and connected to your main window or your other menus tabbed and connected to your main window but whichever monitor isn't connected to your main window ends up with a bunch of menus that can't be tabbed or docked to each other. Perhaps there could be a little 'lock' button when you undock a menu. You could lock it so that it can't be docked/tabbed with anything no matter where you drag it around, if it's unlocked it will snap to other menus whether they're part of the main window or not.
does that make sense?

what about making undocked windows snap together then.
the point of letting them dock together on another screen though is so that we can move them all together should need to...
not critical, just nice.

Moving them together is nice but for me it's more about just being able to fit everything on the screen in an organized way. That's why I'd like to have the tab function on menus which are on my secondary window.
