My Wish - Output path

Hi!
It would be great if the output path for the mxi and the image file were defined in the Camera parameters (one output path for every view in the same scene) and not in the Render options (one output path for the whole scene).
That would make it easier when rendering multiple views and prevent a stressed out Erik (me) from rendering different views with the same output paths

.
Thanks // Erik

That would be nice!

You can do this easily now via network rendering, even on one computer. Add the same scene several times as jobs, specifying different cameras and output each time.

Hello!
I´m not sure i know what you mean. I know i can render different views from the same scene and change the output paths each time. What i mean is that the paths should be defined in each view so i dont have to change it every time. By changing view you would also change the paths.
Thanks for you reply

Somehow, link a path to a camera, so everytime you use one camera it saves to the same specific path. If you render with a different camera it saves to different path.

Correct!
In our projects we always have 5-10 different views to render, and we have to change output pahs and filenames for each view.
If you do alot of testrenderings turing a project, it takes alot of time.
A "bind output paths to view" for each saved camera would be useful.

You have my vote! +1
another possible solution would be to have an option to auto tag the output path file name with the camera's name, so we don't have to mess with the path more than once.
I'm going to have to investigate the network rendering on 1 box solution... haven't read how to use any of that yet, if I even can.

I agree 100% with this request. In V2 version of the Maxwell Network Monitor is very boring to set a job for every camera!
Would be nice to have a simply flag option to specify in a list which camera to render. For very lazy people (like me) would be usefull also the possibility to automatic rename the output (camera01.mxi and camera01.jpg; camera02.mxi and camera02.jpg...) for all multiple cameras in a scene.
Please, this feature would be much appreciated!!!!
Thank you!!!

My workflow involves saving a different scene for each camera (3dsMax). Xref the contents of the scene into each "camera view" scene.

Nice one! Are there any problems X-referencing in this version?

Xrefs work great as far as I have experienced. So far no issues.

Yes. You can keep active references to another scene to be sent at render time.

I suggest to implement that the name of the file (output file I mean) takes the name of the camera+day+hour.
