Super MXM's

It would be a good option to be able to save MXM's with all their external files embedded in them. The user can always expand the file to access or edit the textures then have the choice to re-embed when finished.
I would happily give up whatever extra hard drive space this feature may occupy for the convenience of not having to track, move, link etc. external files.
Thanks,
Gary

a lot to read...
I think "Pack & Go" does, in a personal way, what you ask.

I'd imagine what Gary is suggesting isn't so much like pack'n'go but similar to a PSD file where even though there may be a ton of material in there it is still only one file. I can see some benefits!

If it easier then we want it! From the first moment we aim to Maxwell's ease of use so maybe it is nice to have it...

I totally agree!
Combining all materials and textures in one file would make maxwell superior to all the other rendering packages out there.
Unlike the standard way of organizing textures in one location and mxms in another, I like to have my mxms right next to my textures, for easy editing and replacing. Building a personal materials library is a dynamic process where you need to keep renaming and optimizing the location and naming of your new materials and folders. Right now, the way maxwell is built, if you change one file name or move an mxm to a new location (along with it's textures) everything gets messed up!
A super MXM would make the workflow perfect!!
