very good idea ...

In Artlantis R I can collect from the preview render in an album the preview of the renders ...simple jpeg with the setting of the materials writed in the file... with this simple jpeg+ I can share my personal materials and setting or archive it in the album to use it on other works... in this way for example I can use a fresnel water than work fine in other projects only with a drag 'n drop...

Rather than target this suggestion to only jpegs, how about for each rendering, mxcl creates a separate text file - using the same name as the saved image - that contains all of this information. I rarely save to jpeg, and this information would be usefull regardless of what file format the user prefers.
