Z clip planes not perpendicular to line of sight

I have been working on a job where it would be nice to be able to use Z clip planes that are self created and not always perpendicular to line of sight.

At a minimum the Z clip plane could be any planar surface intersecting the line of sight. At a maximum you could designate non-planar (or stepped flat surface) that intersects line of sight.

couldn't that be achieved by splitting the model in half and hiding one half of it to the camera?
It's not the easiest way, but would be an emergency solution for your actual case until NL manages to add this feature.

Hello Kami,

The great thing about Z clip planes is they do not affect the lighting of the model, where as actually splitting the model does!

It would not, if you only selected "hide to camera" and not "hide to gi"
or am I mistaken?
