Please consider improving the way Maxwell materials handles search paths. When copying textures between folders in a collaborative enviroment where the textures need to reside inside the project folders problems arise...

If you "save as" through MXED or MXST, it will give you the option of duplicating and moving all textures. It's not a good idea to move or copy any files through Windows Explorer or similar where there are dynamic links involved (AutoCAD, Revit, MXED, MXST, etc.)

I work through the plugin. Ive managed to get around the problem of broken textures by keeping all my files in the same folder. But wouldn´t it be better if Maxwell could look in the same folder as the project BEFORE looking at the full path. That way I could avoid the risk of textures getting modified in another part of the project by another person when we split off the model and associated materials into two folders for working on different parts of the project.

Thanks. I have never quite had the nerve to try it but maybe it is a good stopgap solution. Really the functionality it offers should be integrated in the app. How can I otherwise be sure that it will work correctly with more recent versions of Maxwell...

It does.
I use it mainly to update the preview image, though.
