Maxwell Render | Official public forum

As an XSI user, i would like to know if it's possible to get answer to those questions:

1- Will there be an xsi pluggin?

2- Is the pluggin already under developpment?

3- How integrated will it be in softimage. I mean will we be just able to render passes with it or could we get access render region also ?

4- If you can't answer all those questions, then will we have to wait until march to get a flavor of the standalone render?

I've been told there will definitely be and XSI version,( read the pdf file http://www.maxwellrender.com/maxweldoc.pdf) it will be available before the final is released. I brought Maxwell knowing there was going to be an XSI version, otherwise I would not have brought it. Its just a matter of time and a matter of XSI users wanting Maxwell, if theres more XSI users wanting Maxwell there will be more incentive to work on the plugin.
So all those XSI'ers out there wanting Maxwell speak up !!

I hope that it will be the case. I just did this post to get confirmation of what you say. That will definitly match my needs.

Any news about a softimage plugin?

I just bought it today, hope the standalone and the xsi pluggin will be quick delivered.

think the more of us that purchase it the more pressure we'll put on Victor et al to finish the plugin

You won't see Maxwell in XSI's rendertree......The plugin, which according to the Maxwell site is being worked on, will simply be a way to export your geometry and perhaps camera info into Maxwell. In Maxwell we will probably apply materials and set up the lighting.

Well it won't matter much if the plugin provides some sort of interactive bridge between xsi and maxwell, i mean if I change something in the geometry in xsi, press a "update" button, the geometry updates in maxwell. It will be sort of like LW....
