Clip planes

I think it would be very useful to have the model clipped by a plane oriented indipendently from the camera itself. I think, for example, at those lovely rendered models of flats. There are workarunds, for example by keeping the mesh used for the boolean operation and making it invisible to camera, but then i could have to set different models, while this way i would have only one model. And this makes light up another idea: these planes could be then used to exclude undesired portions of a model from the scene calculation...let's suppose that you have to render different rooms of that flat ...this way you could setup the whole scene for all the rooms thet will have for sure a lot of materials shared by the different objects, and then use these planes to lighten the comutation by reducing the portion of the model effectively taken into consideration for the calculation. Do not know either if this is possible and if could be considered effective by other users, but i would love to have this feature!
