Combining Emmiter Channels for Multilight

I thought that this was asked before, but couldn“t find it in the wish list.

I am currently working on a night street scene, and I am using lots of emiters materials. Most of them are Store Windows with an MXI based emiter materials. I cannot use multilight option because there are too many emiters in the scene, although I do not need a special channel for each of them
If I could joint all the diferent store windows materials into a single channel, I will be able to do multilights renders again!
Thanks

If you are using Max, you can join the geometry which will use one slider in the ml.

Yes I know, Bubbaloo
But I need to have lots (more than my machine and ML option can handle) of emiter materials, which are diferent.
If I would join the geometry I would have to asign the same material.

Join the geometry you need to, then apply your materials to the sub-objects. I don't know if this will result in one slider in ml or more. I haven't tried.

The problem with joining geometry is a destructive way in order to reduce the multilight sliders, the ideal way is via plugin or studio you can check an option like "merge lights same value" where MR internally make the work to joining the objects with the same value no matter is Watts or color temperature or MXI or anything.
