MXED options

MXED has gotten a bit TOO compact. I can't even enlarge it to see my library anymore in 1.5. I would like a full size editor with larger preview as an option. I just can't get a complete sense of the subtle nuances in a material in such a tiny preview.

With the kind of computer you have, everyone would like that :)

I would also concurr.

Additionally, there should be a way to save MXED options. For example, the deafult quality level of 4 is (at least to me) completely useless. I always use 8-10 (and I'd probably use 12 if it was available!). Anyway, there should be a way to set all options (quality, render engine, scene, etc.) so that they are saved as preferences.

MXM Gallery type of interface in MXED?

This interface seriously lacks right now. I click on folders and the icons jump out of the way, the text is too small, I can't see detailed shots of the material icons.

Because of this, I find myself using the Online gallery to hunt down material options. You can search for materials by type : IE Steel. Because of the keywords used on the website. But there is no continuation of the data to the MXED. I want a search within my MXED to find all metal shaders without having to have them in certain folders. NL already asks for that info. So make it inherent in each material. Make a searchable interface on the local computer. Please give us something pretty to look at! These tiny previews should be scalable in size. As well as the folders in the browser tab.

Also, can you not further integrate the online database into the local MXED???? At least so we can have a better preview of materials, searching and update info on new materials and their keywords for selecting materials.

I feel the need of resizing the mxed window too; also I usually cannot read the whole name of a material cause it's too long; something has to change there.

You can change (and retain) those settings from mxst Edit>Preferences. Once changed there the settings will be retained for mxed too.

Fernando, thanks for pointing out where the mxed preferences can be found...in Studio, claro.

While this is certainly a help, I would still advocate for preferences that can be changed within the application itself (e.g. mxed preferences set in mxed).
