Oh. But why is the material editor in Studio re-sizable and standalone not?

Because in studio, you can tile it with other windows.

After all, why would you need it much bigger? the preview times would be much worst.

I don't want to resize the preview window. I'm talking about the entire window of the material editor. That shouldn't effect preview time, would it? It's mainly an issue when using the browser tab to preview materials when there are more than fills the window. Yes, I can scroll through them, but would be nice if I could resize window to see them all at once.

I'd guess it probably has to do with some technical factors involved in implementing a standalone cross-platform dialog window. In MXST, the window is a child of MXST, so it's really different to work with in that setting.
