Multilight feature applied to sun studies

Ok, maybe I'm talking nonsense, but, would it work if NL implement a feature to "hit render only once and you'll obtain infinite pics", with the physical sky/sun feature?
Maxwell would render 10 , 20 or 24 sun/sky emitters at once, at different hours, then, when finished you could change the hour of the day in realtime, because maxwell have calculated already all the possible positions of the sun, just as it currently does with multilight emitters.

Hmm, its a cool idéa. I like it. :D But it would be really heavy rendering 24 suns at a time...

Maybe an option to interpolate from this time to this other time with n steps would be great.

:P

This could probably be doable if the renderer disables refractive and reflective caustics as those would make it take forever to calculate all the necessary data required. Still the result should be good enough to use for animated sunstudies.

That's my guess at it.. could be way off the wall wrong as always :)

I'm not sure, would be like having 24 emitters, just like the multilight feature, the size of the mxi file would be huge though.

I would be happy with just being able to animate the sun settings (date, time, etc) from within our plugins.....
