If it has not already been requested it would be nice to have some form of volume or gas struture to use. like being able to have a light shining though a humid night!

It could be possible if you model for example a big cube or sphere and use a material like the cloud from MXM gallery... Never tried that, just an idea. I've seen an image with fog in the gallery forum, maybe it's worth searching for this
