Updating Geometry

This has probably been covered already somewhere on this forum, but it's so long, I don't want to look through all the pages (I did look through several, at least!). The ability to somehow update the geometry that is already stored in an MXS file would be, in a word, wonderful. I can reimport the original object...but this doesn't work very well, as the export from (in my case) Lightwave takes care of niggling things like triangulating objects, etc.
I know that I CAN, if I only use the plugin. However, I have come to realize that the plugin is EXTREMELY limited in its abilities, and have switched to slapping the objects into Layout, and exporting to MXS.
I also tried copying an object from another MXM (I haven't used Studio a lot, yet), and found out you can't. This is not that big a surprise, since you can't in Lightwave (at least, I've never been able to), but since Studio doesn't have its own modeling tools...it would be a nice feature.
