partial multilight

It might be interresting to have some "partial multilight" function, ability to deactivate multilight process for some emitters (exclude emitter from "ml" process). That could save some memory for large renders with still the possibility to vary some emitters...

don't know if that's clear

If this will save RAM, then we need it... Otherwise I don't think it's a priority

Another way to d so, would be to weld all the emiters into a single object, so that it will build a single switch for that group of lights.
In that way you could have two or 3 switches, but all the lights should use the same material!!!!
That is a limitation..

The best would be to have the possibility of creating a custom switch box, with 3 or 4 switches only, and you could create groups of lights that will be connected with each switch.

I wrote a similar wish some time ago, but wishing a more intelligent system that the plugins or Studio can identify those emitter who share the same value and automatically merge to multilight sliders groups, eg. have 20 polys of 100w and you name it "exteriors light" and 35 polys of 5500K and you name it "interiors light" so in the ML sliders you have only two groups.

Cheers

A good way would be enabling light groups
In this way you could create groups of emmiter materials in the materials window, so that maxwel will create a single switch for each group.
In case you are using sun light and phisical light, an additional switch will be created.
