Viewing Mode

Currently we have many general viewing modes, that could be set in the viewports included the 3d viewport.
Shaded, Textured decal, Toon, etc.
We have also the possibility of selecting a viewing mode by object.
But there are some conficts:
If you set a Shaded viewing mode in the 3D viewport, you can set an individual object to textured decal, but it is not working.
For instance if the general mode is textured decal (set in the 3d viewport) you can set an individual object to shaded and this time it will work.
It seems that textured cannot be enabled individually if they aren“t set in the general viewport.

It's actually how it works. You can select any shading level for your object but you can only see the ones who has shading level below general level. Which means you can't see "shaded mode" per object when your viewport mode is "toon". This is a current limitation rather than a bug but we can evaluate this as a wish. Thanks.

I see Tom!
I will explain what I was trying to do, in order to be clearer:

I like to work in shaded mode if possible, but at the time I arrange the flat fake people, I wanted to see the maps so that I can place them accordingly to their actitud. For instance if they are walking right, I will try to place them in a place where there will not be a wall or column at their right.

So a general shaded mode pluss a textured decal for people only would be the ideal.
