I wish NL can provide an Offitial Trustable material library (simple and basic) so that we can see how are they created and use as base to create other materials. Metals Plastics Glass and Matte surfaces.
Although there are lots of materials in several libraies they are very special materials and perhaps more complex than they should, not to mention all the not working materials that has missing ior files or maps.
It would be easier to start from simple materials as Steel, Aluminium, Clear Glass, etc.

Good point, the library really isn't of thought through structure. I'd also like the wizard to be scriptable so we can create custom ones for special purposes.

Version 1 comes with a rather large starter library of materials in basic and advanced samples.

OH! oh!
I have just discovered (after so much time) the material wizard and the guide to create materials in the material editor window!
It is great! It is possible to create any material in an ordered way, step by step. I think this made my wish innecesary or less urgent, because now I can understand more on materials.
Anyway, if the official material library is created I will be happy!
