New maya material

i am not the best at c++ so i dont use the sdk often. i do use MEL alot. i have created a mel script that can translate maya shader to MXM and then togle between the two (like sceen states in max) the only problem is i use the MXPlastic attributes and it does not have all the desired attributes (ie transparency color & transparency map)

so. could you create a maya shader that has access to all of the color/map attributes. if so i can easily adapt the script to translate full the shading network.

I think i missed the Point.

There shouldn't be a problem of missing attributes. Perhaps there is a probleme of a clever translation.

I am just thinking about a full intergration of Maya Shader System. So you could use the entire tools of Maya to generate Maps, translate them and connect them with the MXM File.

I think this could be possible.

The problem could be that the material editor ist ou of range .....

I`ll have a discussion about this with a good friend an programer of mine.
