8etty, a demoware like what Vray does has been suggested.
At the time NL was not interested but now it may help it's interests to get as many people as possible to use M~R.
In Vray the demo is fully functional but watermarks the rendered images. NL would have to either do something like that or limit the output resolution.

As you can see here (http://www.maxwellrender.de/), a maxwell demo is on the way (they say next week).
