Phisycal sky with customizable CLOUDS option. The sky isn't always clear...

This has been asked many times, I think we all want that... But it is a bit early for NL to deal with that. (My opinion of course).
I guess you are asking of a fractal generated clouds of some kind?

Hadn't realized that! But happy to know, so that the guys at NL will have to keep it in mind.
Right what i meant...procedural clouds

I was an Accurender user (from inside AutoCAD) and I really miss that feature. Although it was not looking 100% real it was nice to have it.

Great idea, and I think that with such brilliant people in NL that can make simulations software like RealFlow and Maxwell Render I would look very much forward to see their shot on "real" clouds. Hope it will be considered

You are right, if not NL, then who can do this? There is much experience in fluid simulation, clouds can't be far from that!

I think that might come when we have procedurals. Could be enough with a good procedural cloud map HDRI (MXI) skydome.
Volumetrics would be too much time consuming.
yeah

I would really like to see this, since alot of renderer are starting to add sky (Vray, final render, even blender) thing are starting too look a little bit too generic.

With the SDK out perhaps it's possible for someone to write a "addon" for the physical sky so we get some clouds and stuff..

C4D has it or is it just in the AR 2.5 (?), either way, I hope the Maxwell SDK guys look at what they've done. It's lots of fun and easy to deal with.

I agree, but it has to be a perfect cloud generator...
In the meantime you can use Terragen, that can Save HDRI images, that could be compiled into a panorama with HDRShop.
They will come with sun included!

Max, mate i'd like it too but the sdk is mainly done to export a scene...to create plugins.
some volumetric cloudes would be awesome, and naturaly will introduce an elevation option.
but looking at the introduction of the time bar on the studio, i bet the next big evolution will be being able to export animations as 1 mxs, what would be great!

I would rather have a simple sky color saturation option (water parameter?)

To make sky a little bit grey so it won't cast that perfect blue light.
For cloud reflections we have a perfect solution.. HDRI

I second a cloud generator within Maxwell. That would be gorgeous!
