openEXR support

Sorry I this was posted before, but I would like it if now that image base lighting is back to have support for ILM open EXR support. I like to use linux and as far as I understand hdr is an adobe standar as oposed to openexr which I believe is gaining alot of admires. I use linux so it is easier for me to work on that formatt since I cannot use photoshop.Anyway I believe that in the long run is a formatt that more people are starting to use.

edit: Just as an add on bonus I would like to be able to render to openEXR not just MXI I still don't have a way to composite MXI file. I think that MXI formatt is nice is just that others don't suport it. Being able to texture OpenEXr would be nice too. Other renders have that option too like Brazil, Mantal ray and even blender.

Yup very reasonable request, hope they decide to support it.

Maxwell 1.0 is currently supporting HDR, but openEXR support is on our to-do list.

Thank you Tom!

This is good news!

Will it be in a 1.X update or only in V2.0?

Regards,

Roman

Tom,
good to know that you are at least thinking about it.
