Hi!

I was just thinking about how to add this final bit of reality to M~R images.

Just look at this photo to see what I'm talking about:

It would be cool to activate an image for lens dirt. To create results similar to this.

It's ok to have it for V1.5 ;)

what it looks like with RC5

Ha! This is a cool one! Ok then, we need some algorithms for lens scratches, too 8)

woudn't this be possible if we could provide a grayscale color image of the diaphragm's shape?

white circle/ black bg -> circular diaphragm -> circular shaped "dof"
white polygon/black bg -> polygonal diaphragm -> polygonal shaped "dof"
tom's b&w photo -> tom's photo diaphragm -> tom shaped "dof"..

Could be fun, and even useful sometimes :)

For scratches, we would just have to do a circular diaphragm image with scratches

Yes, but that's not lens dirt. That's bokeh.

@jfrancis: right you are! I hadn't heard of it yet.

So defining it like here would be cool :)

Is it related to the Lens/glare definition?
