I was thinking the same. Good idea!

hehe.. i just had the same thought..
..and then about dynamic object hiding, moving... but hen we'll finish doing all the animation in one frame juste for the benefit of the dynamic lightning!
I guess it's a clear message to NL the this feature is really good and time saver..! It would be great if such GI-layers info could be also used forom other cameras and frames.. sort of partial unbiaised baking to speed up renderings.. it could be very efficient for animation if each frame only needed to process the rays resulting of the movement of camera/objects and not all the other rays already processed by another frame/render.
Real time "render mode" in studio would be delicious

It´s possible now with two or more emitters simulating the sun (or suns)

That's an interesting idea. There's one little problem with extending this to
a lot of suns: An emitter that's turned off is rendered black, so the sun
should not be directly in the picture (or in a reflection, for that matter)

Another problem would be that when you change the time, background changes too.
