Robert,

What kind of situation? What, in principle, is different about a macro lens?

When you put your camera REALLY close to an object, a macro lens behaves different then a normal lens, i dont really know how to explane it, im not the best with photography.

it just makes it easier to take pictures of things up close like rings and bullets and other tiny things.

Sure, they're optimised and have closer focusing ability. But does the Studio camera lens have any limitations, though?

My ordinary digicam lens will focus down to 20mm

There is no need for this (as far as I can tell it is already possible).
Adjust your lens length and make sure your camera target is in the right place for the object to be in focus.
