I think it would be great to have procedural textures to be used in the several channels, No need to explain the advantages.

Yup i agree, it would be excellent to have a few procedural noise textures
both 2d and 3d like in C4D which we could map to objects and tweak their
parameters to achieve various types of noisemaps combined with bump
and displacement and make them interact with surface imperfections and
the different layered materials on each object and last but not least also
with a good looking dirt map (hehe)
I know this is a BIG wish, but that's what wishes are for..

Yes, I agree!
It would be great to have procedural tiles, wood, bump maps etc.

Funny how people change their minds over a period of time.
The last time (some time ago now)i brought up the need for procedurals, i think i had half this forum wanting to string me up in a tree, just for suggesting it.

also for surface orientations to mimic:
- laying dust
- rain traces on roofs, facades (automated dirt !)
- moss on stones
- snow

I would ADORE a procedural function. It doesnt have to be complex at first.. simple fractal and grid patterns would help for a starter.

yes, but with real texture size settings in cm, m, ...
this would be great !

Don't forget a blend map/mix map for combining different textures and of course a falloff map (like we have in max)!!

I don't know if this make any sense, but it would be nice to have multilevel layer system with hierarchy, so that the lower level can control the map blending with weightmap and the higher one can control any other material properties. even though might be dangerously complicated to manage.

Yeah JDP i thought of that too! It would be handy.. along with other things like atleast that damn blend map

If we're going to have them, ...this is a must.
