Preview Window

I don't pay much attention to this section ......so I don't know if this has been asked: ....anyways, ...would it be possible to have the preview pane be just a little larger in mxcl ? Sometimes you just have to wait for the render to get a little further to get a good look at something, ...when I think often times the preview does a decent job of indicating it ......but it's just a little to small to make out. .....I'm only talking maybe a 10-15% size increase...I realize there's not much space within the current GUI .....but I think it could be done.

It's what I thought, but maybe it's a little time consuming?

maybe something like in Max ->double click on the material preview opens a resizable material preview window

Good idea

The preview window could also have some basic settings you could use
such as enable/disable it all together, how often it should update, size ofcourse and maybe some other useful parameters.

Because i assume the preview itself steals some cpu power and ram
during the rendering of the large image that if you turn it off or are able
to adjust it's updates to set it like once every hour or more then that cpu
power and ram is used for your main rendering instead of keeping the
preview window updated while you render.

Now that's a heck of an idea ......a switch. On / Off. nice Max.....

great idea Max, second that.

I would add some sort of feedback (progression bar, countdown?) while material preview is updating...

Thanks :D hehe yeap i thought so too. And to have a small progressbar
as you said jdp is also a great idea as it is now you never know if it's
updating or not and you have to guess when you can click the mouse again.

Yes, this would be very cool. I sure hope that NL will implement the initial suggestion by ivox3 and this idea of yours Maximus3D.

I cant help thinking how cool this way of software development must be, having such an active userbase that constantly suggests improvements to the software - and the challenge it must be to evaluate and prioritize all these ideas :?

Well I'm glad it's a popular notion .........seems to be such a little thing to be implemented with a huge appreciation level. pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese. :)

.....i know those guys are busy w/ other pressing matters ......so maybe, just maybe after rc6 or higher we could see such a thing.
