Get material from scene.

I read a post about selecting objects by material. This is very important.
I just want to add the ability to get material from scene.
In architectural drawings we use a window that comes out as a block from Revit->DWG->3dsMax. When I export to MXS, I can't have imediate access to the glass of the window. It is very useful to be able to get the material from the scene, change it the way I need to, and then I know that there will be the correct glass, frame, etc material to everything.

If you select an object in studio its material "hangs" from its name in the objects list. Is not that what you say? (by the way, the list should scroll to the object selected automatically and maybe show its material if less than ten (i.e.) are selected, which doesn't)

i think there is such a function already implemented,
altough it does'nt work yet. if you rmc a mat you have
the option to 'Select triangles associated with this material'

...isn't it this what you're searching?
or am i wrong about this function?

Yes, I saw this now, I kept the object list window very small and the descriptions are long and starting with the same word.
Still, a select material and an automatic assignment would be a nice shortcut
