I would like to be able to copy the maps from one box to another (for example the same image for reflectance and bump) as in 3dsmax.
Also when we open the dialog to select a map the last directory should re-appear

Or at least having a global list of loaded images as you have in Lightwave

I second that... at least a list of images loaded would be nice...

Agreed : copy/paste/replace layers would be helpfull : just duplicate one layer and tweak is often more efficient than building a new one.

I totally agree! I've really missed this a lot of times! Layers are often almost identical, just with a different reoughness or other small differences.
Duplicate layer is a must!

In Studio 1.5 you can drag drop textures between different slots. Holding Shift while dragging also copies that texture chips values. You can also drag drop textures from one bsdf to another (just drag it first over the bsdf, the right part of the material editor switches to that bsdf, then drop it over a color chip).
Or at least having a global list of loaded images as you have in Lightwave
There is a button now in the mat editor, to the right of the Wizards button which opens the textures panel which shows you thumbs of all textures loaded in your scene.

Not in MXED standalone, but it's true for the maxwell studio material editor.

In Maxwell picker you've got the list of loaded textures.

the wish is no longer about the maps - it's about being able to duplicate a layer.
And maybe also to drag a complete, multilayered material into the layers list of another mxm...?
I guess I should open a new topic, and not hijack this one?

Right click in layers box > Embed mxm
It's not dragging, but...
