Out of my head i know that at least Cinema 4d, Rhino and 3dsMax use this scale conversion wich is basically a multiplier where 0.001 would give you 1mm/unit and 15.0 for instance 15m/unit. I'm surprised that the Maya plug-in lacks this feature, definitely an important request!
