You can make images of various trees in different levels of foliage in Photoshop CC now.

Not very realistic, but I could see uses for them.

Put them on their own layers and they render with their own masks.

Also it has some cool new scripted fill options including the wallpaper groups...

Adobe added wallpaper symmetries (and other fill patterns). Used to be mainly available here.
