Awesome collections!

For the cynic, the 80s was just a cacophony of weird, amateurish mixtures of poor taste and headache inducing color combinations. A decade where so much hairspray was used it caused a hole in the ozone layer.

But for me, I don't think there has been a decade where so many musical styles collided and learned from eachother, and I find the mostly naive experimentations very charming Besides making some great tunes. Glam rock, london beat, hip hop, beginnings of rap and electronica...and the stuff between, what is referred to now as 80s pop. Which is a shame because the diversity and creativity of just that 80s pop would today be split up into at least 10 categories. I don't think you can be truly creative without going into some unknown territory, being naive and half not knowing what you are doing.

Contrast this with todays peak perfection in marketing, where even going Gaga means very careful measuring, planning and execution. Mediocrity perfected and put on a pedestal.

..yeah.. i think the confluence of all this rawness brought forward a lot of great artistic power.
just considering the means of video production at that time!
