World's Shiniest Fruit

You'd be forgiven if you thought the images above are of man-made baubles but they're actually real fruit of the African plant Pollia condensata. What's more, the shiny fruit got its iridescent color in a very unusual way.

Unbelievable, they really look like jewels.
I'd love to grow one at home (but I guess the UK doesn't have the same amount of sun a Mozambique!)

Yes, now I recall a plant, myrtle (Myrtus communis) that also produces that kind of beautiful shinny fruits.
They even look like a sort of metallic car paint.
Amazing nature!
