Have been there more than 6 times in past 10 years. There's a local saying that says after your fifth trip, you don't go back to where you came from (home)..... It's a hard place to leave.

San Jose has a yearly avg temperature of roughly 70F. Both coasts are beautiful, and the people are very welcoming. The locals, for the most part, are hard working independents who refer to thselves as Costa Ricans. Not mexicans or Latin Americans. But proud Costa Ricans. They also are very receptive to hear you trying to learn their language. Partly because the are trying to learn yours. Whereas in Brazil, if you try talking to anyone in Spanish, they'll blow you off until you learn how to speak Portuguese.

Pura Vida, as they say.

Thanks ruste...we will probably go down for a visit first.
We are thinking of the San Jose area...keeping close to that.
It's a hard decision to leave one's country.

Cheers,

If you've got the most important person behind the idea as well and they're going with you, then do it! What a great opportunity to move out of the country and try something completely new. You can always come back if things don't work.

I was extremely close to moving to Liverpool from Southern California a few years back but things didn't work out after months of getting my visa, selling furniture, etc...To this day I am still bummed about that!

Good luck and I envy you.

Thanks Jason...yes she is all for it. But despite your dreams of S Cal. you could choose a much better place to be sorry you didn't move to.
It is frick'in awful down there! It is hard to imagine just how bad the air quality in LA is on any given day...
And everything...I mean everything...is stuffed with silicon and none of it bounces!

yolk...sure always room for more drunk or not!
