I'm a complete noob when it comes to audio applications; Aside from some simple trimming and mixing in Audacity, i haven't done anything. For a fun project i want to take a recognizable midi track and replace the usual electronic instruments with short pieces of actual audio recordings (e.g. voices, real world sounds) and ideally have their pitch affected too by the notes.
I'm pretty sure this is possible, but i have no idea where to start. My google searches don't yield any good results, probably because i don't know what terms to look for. If you could point me to some programs that can do this, and tell me how the thing i'm trying to do is called (e.g. "audio synthesis xyz"?), that'd be great!
Thanks a lot.
