The 2013-bound (and likely 22nm-manufactured) Maxwell is set to bring a huge boost in performance/watt as you can see below but no details about it are known. Told you it was exciting. And yes, I want Kepler for Christmas (this Christmas).
We can use Maxwell on Maxwell GPU at 2013?

I wonder if Nvidia can do that.. steal NL's productname Maxwell for their own gpu series. It feels like what Nvidia again did with Luxology's Nexus technology which they also used without permission.

I've heard that their code name is the name of Physicist. Tesla, Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell...

Of course they can. You can´t expect to use the name of a famous mathematic for yourself. If it would be a similar product possibly confusing customer there would be an issue but I hope people can understand the difference between a renderer and a GPU architecture. NL was smart enough to call it Maxwell Render for a reason I guess. Maxwell the musician would not like to be without his own name and Maxwell Technology seems very attached to its name and web site.
The case of Sexus, Nexus and Plexus didn´t confuse me either. The engine tech behind Modo could hardly be confused by the Visual C libraries of Nvidia.
To show how difficult this is consider the following sentence which actually make a lot of sense
¨It´s unfortunate that I didn´t register Henry Millers first book title as I couldn´t meet the .US Nexus requirements otherwise I would have very big modo pockets by now.¨or the alternative ´My nerve plexus can´t comprehend that nexus can forbid sex.us´.
The 64000$ question is how many trademarks where involved in the making of this sentence and how much I owe Henry Millers children

Hm.. maybe, maybe not. However Nvidia had to drop the name Nexus and pick something else after Brad Peebler contacted them and let them know they were using the same productname. Apparently it is a registered trademark/copyright issue.
