Maxwell Render | Official public forum

I was googling a Maxwell question and along the way I ended up reading some forum posts from when Maxwell was just first coming out (it might've still been beta, i don't remember). The people that were trying it out at the time had some pretty horrible things to say about the program.

I don't think I starting using until 1.6 and before that, Maxwell was not on my radar...the only thing I knew of it before I started was that Maxwell could make the BEST flashlight lit renders this side of the CG universe! I am just curious about anybody's experiences, comparisons, stories or whatever from when Maxwell was a baby. Based one what I read in that forum, it seems Maxwell Render has come a VERY long way in a few short years. As we wait for the HUGE step of the fast preview I'm interested to hear about this. Also, feel free to throw in some of your early Maxwell images which you were proud of back in the day....but now, eh, maybe not so much

Well, I use Maxwell since beta and believe me, I wouldn't mind to use the beta again, it was a simple Max plugin with great results... Of course there were problems which I didn't care about because 99% of my work is exterior architectural renderings...
However, I think that Maxwell is getting better and better all the time (except the RCs period) but I will always miss the simplicity of a small, easy, compact Max plugin...

A group of rogue spanish programmers set out

on a journey to make the render of all renders.

Early on, ...there was the peaceful state of Alpha Phase.

Soon these happy times gave way to the Beta conflict.

Field soldiers began to question the programmers loyalty to them.

Plug-ins were desperately needed in the field and were in short supply.

As tensions mounted, factions appeared and divided with dark and light sided agendas.

Ultimately these forces met in 5 separate mini-wars. These were collectively known as the RC Holocaust.

Peace was restored with the V1 Treaty

and further strengthened with the solidity

and resolve of the V2 Agenda.


The saga continues ..........
