I was watching these the other day and found them quite amazing

The system requirements are pretty heavy though and Linux is the only Platform available for now.
Seems like I will need a NVidia Quadro card after all..

You won't need a Qaudro card for Mari, it works fine with a 400 series Nvidia gamingcard. And it's out there for Windows too. I'm betatesting Mari and it's a great app already in it's early days. :)

There are both screenshots and videos posted online already of both Linux and Windows versions of Mari. :) I'm testing the Windows version as i don't use Linux for 3D work.

Here's a video of it running on Windows.

Seen all videos that are flying around on youtube already.

Was expecting something cooler max. Come on! :D

Who do I have to bribe to get into Windows beta testing?
I finally ordered a Wacom Intuos 4 yesterday - can't wait to start the fun

Not if you have a mac. There are no 400 series for mac pros. Only the quadro 4800 which is over 1.500 euros.
ouch

There are other nvidia cards available of course but afaik none that meet the Mari specifications

Mari doesn't run on OS X anyway, because it needs OpenGL 3.0 or 4.0, and OS X only supports OpenGL 2.0 at the moment.
