The best texture maker is my Canon, Photoshop, and ImageSynth. Other than that, I find lots of good textures on CGTextures. But you're right, most of the textures out there are BAD.

Hiya DIA, long time no see! :) how are you doing these days ?

About textures, it all depends on what's required. Sometimes commercial textures works fine and sometimes they don't. The resolution of them was pretty poor in the past but recently it has changed and now they look better, however highquality textures are always welcome. Any free textures you find online usually suck and requires you as a user to redo them from scratch if you want something useful.

Hi Maximus! :) Iam doing just fine thx! working for Systeam Cab and doing alot of images :) I belive that customers are getting more and more in to photorealism and then highquality textures are very useful but often soo hard to find. Arroway is the only company i think thats deliver really good stuff so far.

That's very good to hear DIA :) yea highquality realistic textures are useful for all artists who produce photoreal renderings, seamless textures too if possible. I assume you are still shooting pics with your nice camera, then you must be going to the Fotomässan on the 9-11th April hehe, if so.. maybe i'll see you there. You should post your photos in the photothread here to share them with the rest of the world. Btw, are you still using Maxwell ?

Ofcourse you will share photos :) ow.. that's a shame Maxwell is too slow for your type of work, however you could still use it in private. :)

Surely there will be a Maximum limit for high res tho as a texture at 12000 x 12000 seems huge! what if it starts progressing to 20000 x 20000 or 40000 x 40000 no doubt it prob will :D wont even need seamless or tilable textures that can be an advantage I guess!

Very interesting Tea_Bag . Memory is no longer a big problem in most cases so large textures is great i think abd you dont need to tile them thats a huge advantage as you mention.
