I was browsing through P6T SE motherboard manual, and found something interesting, it says:
"Due to Intel spec definition, X.M.P. DIMMs and DDR3-1600 are supported for one DIMM per channel only".
P6T SE comes with 6 DDR3 Dual Inline Memory Modules (DIMMs) sockets, so I was thinking of getting a 2x2Gb 1600 DDR3 kit, and getting another one later. Does this means that I only can go with 3 sticks now - in my case only 6Gb max?

try to find a ram compatibility chart for that specific mainboard.

asus usually has these; if it is done properly you will find seperate infos in how many slots a certain module can be used.

i would very much recommend to follow that list.. very few fast modules can run in all 6 slots... and u might need 12gb sooner or later

Found those QVL lists on the official ASUS site. There's an A-data DDR3-1600 that can be used for all 6 sockets, so I'll get 3 now for 6Gb and 3 more in the future for a total of 12Gb
Also, it looks like you actually need at least 3 sticks do get a Triple-channel. Didn't know that
