Wherever you stand on the debate, this should be required viewing.
Lord Christopher Monckton, Third Viscount Monckton of Brenchley, is chief policy advisor to the Science and Public Policy Institute. He was an advisor to Margaret Thatcher & has been following the Global Warming issue with growing concern the facts have not been properly revealed.
Apocalypse? NO!

Fine Bubba ... sit this one out. lol.. I'm more than happy to drop my garbled 2 bits of nonsense.
Speaking for conspiracy theorists everywhere: We already know this.
Just didn't have all this fine empirical data to make a good standing argument.
, thanks Glebe -- good one !
In a related matter, I would like to mention something.

I think that the doom and gloom they're selling is getting a bad rap. I mean, if we know we're all at some time gonna be leaving this place -- wouldn't it be sort of cool to do it in an apocalyptic fashion ? , ...you know, .. with something momentous.. ? This as opposed to finding yourself in some assisted living scenario drinking liquid peas from an unfriendly and mannish looking nurse ?
Give me an asteroid 20 km wide tumbling through space at 10,000 km/hr that will end its journey 772 nautical miles northwest of Funafuti Island. It'll be fun !

Fear the russians.....
Fear the terrorists....
Fear global financial meltdown....
Fear the planet drying up....
You know what, I really don't give a sh*t......when it ends it ends.......I'm with Ivox, give me a big fireball.
What I do care about is lies, obfuscations, deliberate untruths.......
When's the revolution? I'll make a start on the banners....

Fear sells.
Yep, so I've been told. The only problem is that it doesn't offer a choice to buy, it offers to make the choice for you with a gun to the head.
fear, ultra violence, chaos, acid rain..
If you could take Washington DC, NY and Seattle, throw it in a blender --- you'd be in luck !
What I do care about is lies, obfuscations, deliberate untruths......Thomas Jefferson 1775.
When's the revolution? I'll make a start on the banners....Betsy Ross 1776.

I'm gonna shut up now, but in conclusion, here's the very latest temp data:
It's global warming, so heck, the temperatures going UP, right?
Erm, wrong:
Since the phase-transition in mean global surface temperature late in 2001, a pronounced downtrend has set in. In the cold winter of 2007/8, record sea-ice extents were observed at both Poles. The January-to-January fall in temperature from 2007-2008 was the greatest since global records began in 1880. Data sources: Hadley Center monthly combined land and sea surface temperature anomalies; University of Alabama at Huntsville Microwave Sounding Unit monthly lower-troposphere anomalies
