Anyone ever rendered a waterfall?

i have a modern pool with a series of stepped waterfalls going over an infinity edge..... any ideas? no real flow action please... if anyone knows of a trick to accomplish something like it, or knows of a model or image map somewhere that i could use, then i would be greatly appreciative. i don't exactly have a whole lot of time to work on it.... thanks in advance!

or hell, something like this would work:

something mimicking this kind of action (not the landscaping, just the water falling over edge)

this is probably a better example:

or maybe even something with water that disperses with gravity, having some sort of splashing action at bottom.... i'm open to any suggestions on where to start before i waste too much time on it!

I am sure I've seen something in the MXM gallery....
But anyway, I think your problem is how to model this in a way that it looks real... Maxwell will have a small problem clearing the noise if you use a 100% dielectric material but there are some other water mats in MXM gallery...
Start with some tests...

I've done some modeled by hand. It is usually a simple volume made from a extruded spline smoothed, tapered and with some noise. After that I apply this material with the map quite stretched: http://mxmgallery.maxwellrender.com/sea ... earch=drop

The foam is applied in post.

i typed in water but there is a lava tutorial that would work as well.
