Hi Guys:

I got a job a few months ago ( amazing right !!! there are actually a few jobs out there)

I have been using my comp........ dual quad 2.80mac 6 gig ram everything else standard. running windows 64 .

So now the Boss likes Maxwell it is time to buy a comp...

most likely will have to go for dell .. may be a mac :)

but don't think we will get top bleeding edge

anything out there with a dual i7 set up ?

or maybe get the It guy to build one. any suggestions or recent builds anyone has done!!!

thanks

You mention a no-go on bleeding edge, yet you ask about a dual i7 setup. lol.. And what exactly would you call a dual i7 setup ? lol...
Ask me and I'll call it sweet-as-hell. :)

cutting edge ... just before you bleed....

more like mid level i7's not topnotch extreme kind

cutting edge >>>>>mac 2.26 dual quad

bleeding edge >>>>>> mac vs 3.0 dual quad

Well ... your gonna bleed all the same. I think at the moment any dual 1366-socket stuff is still in the server/Xeon realm. Even still, if there was a desktop version(and there may be, but I'm not paying that close attention) --- it would still be considered 'enthusiast' and its gonna cost.

So its a good time to mention i9(Gulftown) six cores .. that might be a real good bet in maxing out money spent for a small army of cores that'll fight for your renders mercilessly. lol.. Don't know when to expect those tho ..
